Great family business with great service support for my 2013 Freelander 2. I do recommend using Gerry and team.
About a year and a half ago I took my Land rover Defender in for a new clutch as it was starting to slip, whilst it was there and serious work was being done in the engine bay i thought it would be a good idea to get the timing belt, tensioner and oil seals done at the same time. When i next popped the bonnet i noticed most of the bolts holding the fan cowling were no longer there and within a few days i noticed an oil leak was coming from the timing cover weep hole. Fast forward a year and a half, my work place has told me to fix the car or I can no longer park there due to the oil leak. So I took my landrover in to be serviced by another mechanic recommended to me by a friend. I received a phone call explaining what they had found. The oil leak from the timing belt cover and the missing cowl bolts didn't surprise me bu the half undone / hand loose bolts on the timing cover did, also the timing cover belt was damaged and a replacement is required. I'm getting photo updates from my mechanic of the problems he is finding including the once new timing belt swimming in oil. So now i need another new seal, timing belt and timing cover (due to significant damage to the timing cover), and with the mechanics time this is going to cost me well over a grand. One does not expect the recently replaced oil seals to fail, but maybe they did and it had nothing to do with the method Panuccios used to install them, Maybe they did not damage the timing belt cover when working on the car and it was already like that. So giving them the benefit of any doubt I can let that slide. However what i can not accept as good workmanship is not informing me about the damaged timing cover, leaving finger loose bolts, and missing bolts on the fan cowling. This is unacceptable to me. Maybe this was the work of a rogue apprentice and a lack of supervision. who knows, but for me It is enough to know i wont be back or recommending them to anyone. It must be noted, the $3+k i spent with Panuccio autos included a clutch replacement which has been great and resulted in no significant oil leaks (new rear main seals can be notoriously leaky on replacement) the only let down has been the work on the timing belt.It must also be noted I did not take the car back to Panuccios for them to make remediation, and make it right. The missing cowl bolts and new oil leak was a big black mark and my trust in them to look after my car was lost.
Hassle free mechanic no problem too big or too small, thanks for your great service.
Been maintaining my Land Rover with no hiccups. Tx Gerry
